800 × 500 For the 2021 model year, Subaru's best selling model just got better! Follow along as Brandon Tomes Subaru walks you through why the new Forester is the best selling Subaru vehicle.

For the 2021 model year, the Forester is now equipped with standard adaptive LED headlights, as well as standard automatic high beams. The limited trim now has a seven-speed manual mode for the continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). Also new is a redesigned rear center-console storage tray, found on all trim levels except base.

The Subaru Forester is a compact SUV competing against big names like the Honda CR-V and the Toyota RAV4. It has five trim levels to choose from: Forester Base, Forester Premium, Forester Sport, Forester Limited, and Forester Touring. Regardless of whichever trim level you choose, each Forester is powered by a 2.5-liter SUBARU BOXER 4-cylinder engine; capable of making 182 horsepower and towing up to 1500 pounds. MPG estimates for this Subaru SUV are 33/26--Hwy/City. Passengers will be pleased to find that this compact SUV is spacious! With 111.9 cubic feet of passenger volume and 35.4 cubic feet of cargo space, road trips will be a breeze in the new Forester.

Safety and Technology Features

Perhaps where the 2021 Subaru Forester really shines is in the safety and technology department. Found standard on all Forester models is Subaru's EyeSight Driver Assist Technology. Bundled in the EyeSight safety suite are:

- Advanced Adaptive Cruise Control

- Lane Keep Assist with Sway Warning

- Pre-Collision Braking

- Pre-Collision Throttle Management

Studies have shown that Subaru EyeSight has reduced the rate of rear-end collisions by 85% on all Subaru models. Drivers can also opt for the DriverFocus Distraction Mitigation System, found standard on Touring models. With this package, your vehicle will be that of an attentive copliot. DriverFocus is able to recognize up to five different drivers and remembers their preferences like seat position, climate settings, and outside mirror positions. Subaru Forester also features All-Around Awareness features such as Blind-Spot Detection/Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Rear-Vision Camera, and Reverse Automatic Braking. In the event of an accident, Subaru's Advanced Automatic Collision Notification system will alert an operator for assistance. Forester also features SOS Emergency Assistance at the push of a button.

The Forester SUV also includes state of the art technology features for drivers and passengers to enjoy. Standard models boast the SUBARU STARLINK Multimedia suite, with wireless pairing and hands-free smartphone operation. STARLINK features Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, as well as available navigation and an 8-inch touchscreen upgrade. Also available is vehicle WiFi connectivity, where passengers can connect wireless devices from the comfort of their Forester. Download the STARLINK smartphone app for additional cloud based apps and vehicle controls directly from your smartphone.
